ProteoSys was founded in March 2000 in Mainz, Germany and is a “systems biology” company integrating synchronized molecular information based on a proprietary platform for quantitative differential proteomic profiling, with a special emphasis on statistical treatment of differences. The background is the conviction that key events in cellular signal transduction take place at the level of fast posttranslational modifications of protein side chains.
ProteoSys has worked successfully in a number of international publically funded research collaborations, especially in European projects in FP 5-7 (details at www.proteosys.com). These studies, mainly in the fields of cancer research and neurobiology have resulted in numerous publications. ProteoSys employs its technologies and know-how in drug discovery, target validation, mode of action studies and toxicology. The main expertise is in all major types of proteomic separation technologies, mass spectrometry, stem cell-based neural in vitro systems, fluorescent imaging techniques phosphoproteomics, “chemical proteomics” and bioinformatics.
